MY INTERVIEW WITH JESZE BELLE
Q1. What did you want to be growing up?
Always amusing looking back as nothing has really changed.
I always wanted to dance or paint… I find myself making time for both of these passions regularly 🦋
Q2. What is JB Designs?
We are a team of design professionals and creatively driven individuals who are inspired by the art of creating something beautiful.
We specialize in interior architecture and design as well as product design.
JB has a sister arm which manufactures contemporary pieces for our projects as well as retail and online.
We ship nationally in South Africa.
Q3. What drives you to do what you do?
My passion and love for design.
Everyday feels as if I am playing… there really isn’t a day in which I cannot draw love from what I do. I do believe that each of our souls purposes are to find what resonates with our destiny in order for us to find pure happiness in our “work” lives.
Q4. What traits, characteristics or strengths do you feel are required to pursue excellence as a interior designer to have a successful business?
A keen eye, you really do need to be slightly eccentric I feel to really make it in the industry. This kind of love cannot just be taught as it lives within you. Finding a balance between perfectionism and acceptance, a state of flow in your work which brings balance to a space.
To have a successful business, adaptability and being able to understand each facet of your industry from the marketing to the deliverance as well as the implementation. You really do need to be able to apply both sides of your mind being in a creative space and also being able to understand the workings of the business.
Q5. What does success mean to you as a determined / driven woman?
To me success is finding joy in your endeavors and being able to grow and learn daily from your experiences both in business and life. As a driven and motivated woman it’s finding a balance between both masculine and feminine energies which I find is the recipe for reaching new heights. I also do believe that true success is always willing to make space and time for those who have just started their journey as there is real happiness found in a sharing knowledge.
Q6. How do you process work load stress or personal stress or just to much coming at you all at one time?
To be honest I haven’t been stressed in a while after consciously changing my daily and weekly routine around. I start my day at 4:30 am with meditation followed by caffeine… it’s all about balance.
I have found that clean eating and just being aware of what goes into my body is enough to keep me energized to handle an influx of work… I also have a great team whom without I would probably definitely feel the stress.
Twice a week gym and kickboxing helps relive any pent up frustration and last but not least when I get the opportunity to paint it definitely awakens my spirit 🖤
Q7. If you could speak to one woman from history, who would it be?
Mary Magdalene
Q8. What’s next for you?
I would love to say work wise moving our design into development and life wise always developing 🦋
