Hi, Hello from Texas,
I love BEAUTY and you know what else I love, when you meet someone that you have an instant connection with, like you have known them for years?
Well I had the privilege to sit down with The Celebrity Makeup Artist Priscilla Distasio and omggggggg we had that connection!!!!!! Priscilla and I hit it off and had a blast in our interview. She is absolutely a breath of fresh air, not to mention HOT as hell!!! Now I am only revealing a little of our interview and saving the rest for my upcoming book that is soon to be released.
MY INTERVIEW WITH PRISCILLA DiSTASIO
Q1. What did you want to be growing up?
When I was younger, I definitely had in mind to become someone to make an impact possibly “ a successful makeup artist” lol as I have always been inspired by makeup & beauty! Even when life took turns on me I still managed to stayed focused & determined to make my passion for makeup come alive.
Q2. How did you get started as a makeup artist and what was the thing that you did to push you into celebrity status?
I had initially worked for one of the biggest gaming companies ” Take Two Interactive Software / Rock star Games” the creators of many popular video games and consoles. I was in sales for about 8 years. At around 24 I got married and had a beautiful little baby boy Giovanni. A short while after at only 25/26 I was heading towards a not so comfortable divorce (but I don’t think any of them are) 😉 as well as I faced a few tragedies in my family which helped me realize what not to take for granted in life and how short in could really be. However, I had to do lots of adjusting as a person, a single mom, and a career woman. I turned my anger & my sadness into something positive and always kept in mind that ” Success” was the best revenge, little did I know I would find my true happiness and calling in life aside from being a mom. The struggle was definitely “real”, but with my mind staying strong and determined & I took each day and focused on me one step at a time. I sucked up my pride and went for a job at the local mall to work for Mac Cosmetics. I went in telling myself “this is only temporary and let’s see where it can go”! It was a big change from where I had once had been. I had an amazing team of girls and I grew with them and the company. In just about a year I had left and started to put my work out there utilizing any and all social media outlets I could to promote myself. I had done some modeling and that made me more drawn to the beauty industry as well. I happened to then get an email on Facebook in regards to being the makeup artist on a VH1 show called “My big Friggin Wedding” and so I did. At that time I had also landed clients like Traci Lords & Racquel Castro from the Movie “Jersey Girl” . Not long after this led into me meeting Teresa Giudice from ” Bravo’s The Real housewives of NJ“, and it was all uphill from there!! Teresa and I bonded very quickly and till this day I am by her side. I am very grateful for her but at the same token I am very proud of my commitment to staying focused and making a living with something I loved doing!
Q3. What motivates you?
What motivates me is LOVE! The love I have for my family and making them proud, the love I have from clients and seeing them glow! I can’t stress enough how rewarding it is doing what I do when I show up to do makeup applications and my clients are thrilled and can’t wait to see what I do to them! The excitement is everything! Most importantly my LOVE for makeup and the variety! I literally can’t get enough! lol
I also would like to mention that in this day and age that we live in, it is very motivating to know that I am able to make something of myself and stand out in a very competitive industry! That definitely will light some fire to stay on your A game at all times! 🙂
Q4. There are so many opportunities that come your way, how do you know which one is going to be the best option to pick and will be the most rewarding?
This is very true! I try not to turn anything down and see what I can make of it! I’m very grateful and appreciative for all and any opportunities that come my way! I always make sure to stay grounded and just do it! You never know what things can lead to and this is how I am where I’m at today. From sleepless night to early mornings, juggling everything in between and asking myself “How am I going to get thorough all this today” I tend to hear my mother’s voice saying ” put your big girl panties on and GO! lol
Q5. What advice do you have for other women looking to start their own journey?
I say “Set goals and go after what you believe you are set out there to do!” I always keep in mind, “do what you have got to do for you first” (its ok to be a little selfish) just try not to hurt anyone along the way 🙂
Q6. What exciting future collaborations do you have coming up?
At the moment, we are starting to film another season of “The Realhousewives of NJ”, as well and doing makeup pretty often for Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” show, which I just love being a part of! Then of course I will be doing lots of press for many of the housewives come air-time when their shows are on. I just recently shot a commercial with Teresa and hip hop icon Dougie Fresh‘ and whatever else comes my way, I’m ready! 🙂
